Let's talk about drone, or aerial, photography and the Southern Utah real estate market. See, when I got into shooting real estate photography many years ago, drones we not a thing. When it came to getting high perspective and all encompassing shots of a property, the only method I knew to was attach my camera to a 25-30 foot long PVC pipe contraption I had made and use a remote trigger to take the picture. Missed the shot? Hoist it back up there and do it again! And that is basically the only option I ever used for larger view pictures of lots and homes. I remember the first time I flew my drone for a property shoot. It was almost like magic to me. I could actually see a preview of the picture BEFORE I took it and could instantly gain awesome and new perspectives that I had never before been able to achieve with my trusty PVC pipe extender. It has been incredible to be a part of the drone revolution that has changed our industry like almost no the tool has ever done before in the world of real estate photography! That original drone I had took only 12 megapixel images and had some awfully bad image distortion that took a lot of work in post production to make the picture presentable to my clients. Fast forward many years and I can now at a moments notice be flying my latest drone and snapping 20 megapixel shots in no time. Not only has the photography quality of drones significantly improved but the video abilities are now incredibly powerful. As in professional grade kind of capable. Dare I say I would not be able to run Real Estate Photography by Sam Reed without my drones. Drones have become absolutely necessary in order to provide Realtors and home owners with the photography they need to market their home for sale, especially so in St. George, UT and the many incredible views surrounding the city. Now with multiple drones in my small fleet I have an absolute blast flying them and getting paid to do it.
